Fantasy News and Questions:

The 2006 fantasy football season is upon us. Our next big decision is who is going to be our keepers and are we going to keep a franchise player? This is where our research for next season starts, with coaching changes, (how will this effect our fantasy players) free agency opens up March 3, 2006 (how does this effect our fantasy players). Questions like where will T.O. Owners play next year. Injuries are another part of the equation. Will Carson Palmer be able to return as the starter, or will he even be able to play football again. Will Duece McAllister return as the fantasy stud he has been for over 3 years. These questions and more we need to know as fantasy football owners.

Carson Palmer 's knee injury was "devastating and potentially career-ending," involving numerous ligament tears, a shredded ligament, damaged cartilage and a dislocated kneecap, his surgeon said. Will Detroit Latin Stars keep Carson Palmer? Palmer made the Pro Bowl in only his second season as a starter, throwing an NFL-leading 32 touchdown passes. The club extended his contract through the 2014 season. This year Palmer emerged as a top tier Fantasy Football Quarterback. The question is now will he be able to return as a keeper. With Kitna deciding to seek the open market, and the huge contract that the Bengals gave Palmer, I think he has something to prove and will return by Cincinnati training camp. If I had him, I would take a chance and keep him, unless the rumors of Chad Johnson are true and he did swing on Coach Lewis. If this is true Johnson’s days might be numbered in Cincinnati.

I have mixed emotions on this topic. It seems as of late T.O. is back in the news since the Eagles gave Drew Rosenhaus permission to trade T.O. The other part of the story that is making headlines is that T.O. wants to go to the Buccaneers. Now it is really no surprise that Coach Jon Gruden wants T.O. he sees the playmaking ability that this guy possess. T.O. is one of the best wide receivers in the game, but he is a head case. Keyshawn Johnson was not even this much of a head case. But since we are talking about fantasy football and I own T.O., who helped the Cutthroat Pirates jump out to a fanominal start, do I keep him? Will a team pick him up and will it be the Buccaneers as some have predicted. I think this guy is one of if not the best WR in the game, specially from a fantasy football stand point. But will he go to his new team and learn to play the game and not his mouth? No matter what or where he goes rest a sure that some Coach wants this guys playmaking ability. This league is not called Playmakers for just any reason.

Where will Ricky Williams play next season? Will he be in a Dolphins uniform? I was just recently told by a blogger friend http://myopiniononsports.blogspot.com/ (dolphin fan) That he heard the Williams might go to the Houston Texans for David Carr. This is huge for both teams. Williams is a great back and before he left the NFL, he was the top fantasy football running back with his 1,853 rushing yarsd. Williams roots are from Texas with him playing college ball for the Texas. Maybe this would help the Texans sale out their home games. The question would be is David Carr worth Ricky Williams? Williams is the real deal and Carr well lets just say the jury is still out. Carr is said to be a great QB, but he needs a better line and better receivers, which Miami has. Carr just might become a fantasy QB if he was throwing to Chris Chambers, Marty Booker and Randy McMichael. The other rumor I just heard is that Ricky might be on his way to the Broncos. I am not sure what the Dolphins would get in return. I do think Ricky’s days are numbered in Miami with them drafting Ronnie Brown, but only time will tell. Will Work for Points will have to monitor this situation closely and see where he goes. If Ricky was to be a starting running back again in the NFL specially in Denver he would be a keeper.
