Sometimes we as owners make a trade that looks good at that point in time. However, later it is a trade that comes back and bites us in the ass.
On 10/25/2005, Cutthroat Pirates owner received a phone call from New York Knights owner. Knights were in trouble and they needed a running back. Their star Shaun Alexander was on a bye and the Knights feared that a loss could really set them back so they sought out a trade. The Pirates needed a wide receiver, Terrell Ownes was out for the year with his suspension, Michael Clayton had the solphmore slumps, and Joe Horn was hurt. The Pirates starting running backs were Cadillac Williams and Warrick Dunn, and some times Domanick Davis. The Pirates had Larry Johnson on his bench, who was not cracking the starting line-up due to the fact Johnson was sharing time with Priest Holmes.
The New York Knights offered the Cutthroat Pirates basically Chris Chambers, WR, for the Miami Dolphins in a trade for Larry Johnson, RB, for the Kansas City Chiefs. The trade also include just to keep the teams line-up legal Chris Brown, RB, for the Tennessee Titans to the Pirates and Joe Horn, WR, for the New Orleans Saints to the Knights. The thought was that Larry Johnson was averaging a touchdown per game and the Knights only need 6 points out of him. Boy what the Knights did not know until after that trade.
What the Pirates did not know was in two weeks, Priest Holmes season would be over and Larry Johnson would become a fantasy football running back stud (A Keeper). This just sucks. Sometimes we make choices that look good on paper, but they have a way of haunting us later in the season. You see New York Knights won this years Super Bowl with the likes of Shaun Alexander and Larry Johnson. With this stud backfield, he could win the Super Bowl Title again next year.
Before 10/24/2005, Larry Johnson had a total of = 51 fantasy points
after the 10/24/2005 trade his points went to =278 (Ouch what a f'd up trade). Can you say I goofed.
Chris Chambers before the 10/24/2005 trade=39 fantasy points
after the 10/24/2005 trade his points were=140 points (at least he was a good WR for me).
Oh well what do you do. The trade is done, and the Knights have the best backfield in fantasy football.

You are welcome ny knights. Too bad, I had a clauses in his contract that read if Larry Johnson becomes the starter he default back to Cutthroat Pirates.
